Getting Here

We recommend flying into Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) and continuing to Varenna by train or private transfer. By train, take the Malpensa Express to Milano Centrale, then change to a train bound for Varenna-Esino. For a more direct arrival, arrange a private transfer to your accommodation in advance.

As June is a popular time to visit Lake Como, we recommend booking flights and accommodations early.

A Few Local Tips

Little things to help you make the most of Lake Como.

Explore by Ferry
Discover Lake Como’s neighboring towns by boat, with beautiful views along the way. Summer ferries can be busy, so check schedules and purchase tickets in advance where available. If tickets appear sold out online, additional tickets may still be available at the ferry terminal’s ticket office, subject to availability. Allow extra time for queues, and check the last departure back to Varenna before heading out.
